The Heart of WOW
WOW- Women for Oppressed Women is an outreach ministry of The Chapel devoted to compassionately serving ministries within two miles of our church home. We are honored to partner with Akron Pregnancy Services, Emmanuel Christian Academy and Haven of Rest Ministries’ Harvest Home, supporting the meaningful work they do each day.

Through prayer, service and practical support, WOW seeks to uplift and encourage women and families in our local community.
We follow the inspiring example of faithful women in Scripture—Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Susanna, who gave generously from their own resources to support Jesus and His disciples, as well as Lydia, Priscilla and Phoebe, who faithfully supported Paul and the early church. Their lives remind us that every act of generosity, hospitality and service can advance God’s work in powerful ways.
Our prayer is to inspire the women of The Chapel to carry that same spirit of compassion —serving and giving with willing hearts to make a lasting difference close to home.
Our Mission
In the name of Jesus Christ and for the glory of God, WOW seeks to meet the needs of women locally and globally who are emotionally, physically, or spiritually oppressed.
