Outreach Prayer Guide

Pray with us for our Outreach Ministries, second Sunday, after 2nd service, 12:10-1pm, Room 158.

All those who believe and trust in Jesus have been sent by God to be ambassadors for God’s Kingdom (John 20:21 & 2 Corinthians 5:20). Some of us are simply sent further to different countries of the world and need supporters to help fulfill the call from God to be a minister of the Gospel of Christ into the world. Please join us in supporting our Local and Global Outreach ministries and missionaries through prayer.

Stephen and Abby Morris — Missionary Training with Ethnos 360

Praise the Lord with us for how He provided during our 2-month practicum in Kansas City. It was a busy schedule, but we loved the time with our friends and our language helpers. The Lord answered your prayers and ours as He proved Himself to be faithful and so kind.

Please pray for our trip to Thailand at the end of January. This will be our first round of international travel as a family -- and first flights for our kids. We're also really excited for the chance to connect with the full South Asia team. Pray that we'll trust God in each moment and that we'll be a blessing to our new colleagues.

Please pray for our family as we go through many transitions (MO -> MI -> Thailand -> OH) in the next few months (November-February).

Pray for us as we begin learning the national language of our country of service. We plan to start language learning January.

Praise God for this season of training out here in Missouri! We'll close our Missouri chapter in December, and we have so much to thank God for from our time out here.

Akron Internationals Outreach (David John, Volunteer Leader)

Pray for unity and oneness amongst the volunteers. Give them strength and opportunity to pursue relationships with the students. Give them courage to boldly proclaim the Gospel.

Pray for the new students who came to the Fall semester gatherings. Pray they will be encouraged and desire to come back to the dinners. Pray the Lord will soften their hearts and make them eager to know about Christianity. Pray for their families back home. Lastly, pray that we are good stewards of the church building and the Gospel so that every student leaves knowing about the Lord.

Week 1

Pastor Minh Dang, (Vietnamese Church)

Please continue to pray for the churches in Vietnam. There are so many new churches planted recently, but we do not have enough pastors for these new churches. Please pray that many young people be willing to enroll in the Bible schools and the needs for pastors will soon be met. I have just returned from Vietnam; on this trip I had a wonderful time with the president and the faculties of Ha-Noi Bible College. My friends and I will help them to develop some practical courses to help their students. So, please pray for wisdom and guidance. Also, please pray for my coming trip to Vietnam with a team of ICM in the early March 2026. We will travel to the whole country. Please pray for protection, guidance, safe travel. Thanks!

Urban Ministries (Lisa Marshall, Urban Ministry)

Please pray for the 70 Angel Tree families and our distribution in a couple of weeks. Pray for opportunities to pray and share the gospel with them as they also experience The Chapel Christmas Light Show.

Pray for the moms in Moms Klub. We will not meet again until February 4th but pray for opportunities to encourage the women to attend church and to be discipled one on one.

Week 2

Cambodia Outreach (Kathi Ferris, Volunteer Country Director)

This coming winter The Chapel will be sending a team to Cambodia on a short-term mission's trip. Please pray that the Lord would provide safe travel and good health for the team members and protect their families back home. That He would fill their hearts with the Holy Spirit and lead them as they minister to the children, home parents, and staff to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. During this trip, team members will be participating in an evangelistic outreach at a local village. Please pray for those attending the outreach that their hearts would be open and ready to respond to the gospel and receive the Word with joy.

Nate and Danielle Chaney — Missionaries to Albania

Pray for Danielle’s health as she has been having some pain due to flair ups from her diverticulitis. Pray for efficiency with the medical system. Pray for the unbelieving church attenders. Danielle has started to regularly meet for coffee with one of them. Pray for the Chaney boys as they seek to serve their church, with a limited knowledge of the language.

The Haven of Rest — Local Partner

Pray the mothers at Harvest Home would desire to know the Lord and receive His gift of salvation. May they develop a personal relationship with Him and may their hearts be open to His love, grace and mercy.

Be in prayer for the residents, their families, and staff. Pray the men will stay strong in the program and God’s Word and to learn to grow through Jesus’ love for them.

The Alumni Bible Study is held every Tuesday evening. Pray for the speakers who share God’s Word. Also pray the Alumni would enjoy a time of Christian fellowship and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Pray for secure housing and job opportunities to open up for our guests to be able to provide for themselves and live on their own.

Week 3

Nancy Ware (Missionary to North Akron)

Pray for wisdom regarding possible changes in location/days of afterschool program. Ask God to move the hearts of Par and Mu drawing them to Christ. Praise God for our adult ESL (English as a Second Language) Bible study. Ask God to continue to work in the hearts of kids in Bible study.

India Outreach (Doug Lauer, Volunteer Country Director)

Please pray for all our sponsored pastors, their families and churches in northwest India who are facing increased levels of persecution. Praise God that our basic financial obligations of these pastors are still regularly being met each month by our most generous church congregation to provide them with basic food security every month. Praise God that the workers in this challenging state have remained courageously steadfast despite the many challenges. Please pray for the outcome of the new case before the Indian Supreme Court challenging anti-conversions laws. The court, in response to this case, has asked the government in Rajasthan to justify their new anti-conversion law there since constitutionally India has freedom of religion. The result of this inquiry could impact 12 additional states that have similar laws that primarily impact Christians. Please pray that our workers will be blessed with wisdom and discernment to work and minister to their flocks carefully and with vigilance. Praise God that Sunderlal and his two younger brothers were finally granted bail and were release from prison and are now back with their families and church. Pray for the staff, all the school children and their families from the six schools we helped to start in India. Please pray for the school the Chapel helped start in 2005 that was suspended this year for lack of consistent funding. Pray that funds will be found to reopen and sustain this school that has had a significant impact on very poor children for over 20 years. Pray that school leader, James, will continue to heal following an attack three months ago. Our ministry partner gives thanks to God for His unwavering grace and protection. Though opposition grows more intense, the Gospel continues to advance—quietly overcoming fear, restoring families, and transforming lives. Truly, the light of Christ shines brightest where the darkness tries hardest to prevail.
