Love God

  • Build a culture and rhythm where prayer permeates every ministry of the church.

    Updates:

    • 6 Winter/Spring/Fall Prayer Nights in 2025

    • Open Prayer included in Fall Wednesday Nights

    • 21 Days of Prayer in January 2026

    • Worship, Praise & Prayer included in Spring Wednesday Nights

  • Build our church’s culture and align our ministries around practicing Prayer, Discipleship, Evangelism and Generosity to foster a deep life with God.

Love People

  • Further develop our commitment to our church-led Outreach initiatives and deepen our commitments to our city-focused Outreach partners.

    Updates:

    • New community partnership with South St. Ministries being established

    • New engagement opportunities being developed with existing partners

    • Partner tour day in September 2025

    • Enhancements to Harvest Blast and inclusion of community partners

    • Implementation of Drive Through Christmas Light Show, Christmas Outreach event

  • Update our strategy to welcome, include and communicate with those outside of our church.

    Updates:

    • Team established to expand the welcoming culture of our church

    • Enhancements made to Monthly Guest Lunch and Second Sunday initiatives

    • Evaluating function of our current Resource Centers

  • Develop a plan to increase the level of kingdom impact at The University of Akron and continue to connect college students to the life of our church.

    Updates:

    • Additional college small groups added in 2025

    • Right Next Door Campaign generated more than $600k in pledges to support the expansion of Campus Focus’s residential ministry

    • Record number of students attended January 2026 Breakaway retreat

    • Additional college ministry staff member will be identified in 2026

    • Renovations on A2 Houses will begin summer of 2026

  • Evaluate the needs of the community, growth of the church, staffing and best practices to leverage our building and make the best plan for its future.

    Updates:

    • Partnering with Mi Iglesia launch team to leverage Amp Room and Classrooms for church plant

    • Engaging in master planning process to plan for future building use

Make Disciples

  • Leverage the multi-generational nature of our church to develop future group leaders, ministry leaders, elders and pastors from within our church.

    Updates:

    • Investing in ministry residency program

    • Creating Leadership Development elective for Fall of 2026

  • Establish and align all ministries to a clear pathway that helps everyone walk through the stages of spiritual formation and maturity.

    Updates:

    • Clarifying definition of spiritual maturity

    • Launch of fall Wednesday night classes (including electives targeting seeking/newer believers)

    • Dedicated Women’s Ministry leadership

    • 1 new Sunday Morning (ABF) Group and 2 new Home Groups were launched in 2025

    • Building pilot team for individualized discipleship initiative

  • Create a plan for global missions that includes increasing mission trip involvement and sending a Chapel missionary.

    Updates:

    • Additional Mission Family being supported in North Africa

    • Launch of fall Wednesday night elective focused on Cross Cultural Ministry

    • Stephen and Abby Morris preparing for Mission Field deployment 

  • Revisit our strategy for how to best utilize the Saturate campaign’s allocated funds for local church planting.

    Updates:

    • Partnership with Orchard NEO to launch an autonomous local church

    • Identification of church planter Jorge Alvardo

    • Mi Iglesia ("My Church") is committed to providing the Spanish speaking community of Akron Un Hogar en Cristo ("A Home in Christ.").  

    • Services began Easter of 2026

  • Continue to develop our commitment to Camp Carl through financial, volunteer and ministry support.

    Updates:

    • Hosted 122 summer staff for June commissioning service and lunch (30% from The Chapel) 

    • Of 2,772 campers, 138 made First-Time Decisions to Follow Jesus in 2025

    • Camp engaged 250 Volunteers each week  (70% from The Chapel) 

    • Hosted September Prayer/Baptism Night which included 24 baptisms and attended by more than 350 people

    • Through our endowment and regular financial support we gave more than $150k to support Camp Carl in 2025

    • Partnering with program staff to integrate Camp Carl events and retreats with The Chapel’s ministry calendar
